The END of MetaTrader is here
The well-known MetaQuotes company has recently been involved in a loss of services in the funding industry. Most of the companies that provided funds have been forced to migrate their servers in search of improved services. Could this mean the end of MetaTrader?
What is MetaQuotes and MetaTrader?
MetaQuotes is the leading company, so far, in the development of software for financial markets. Within it we have two applications, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
These are online trading platforms, where you can open and close positions in the different pairs of the Forex market.
The relationship between MetaQuotes and Funding.
Since the birth of the funded accounts, MetaQuotes has been the fundamental pillar for many retail traders who leveraged themselves thanks to these companies that “facilitate” their capital. This has led them to be the leading company in trading platforms, but? Is this no longer the case?
In the last few weeks we have witnessed drastic changes in the main funding companies. These movements are due to a presumed termination of the relationship between MetaQuotes and the anchor industry. So much so, that industry leader FTMO has migrated its servers to other platforms.
New Trading Platforms
The big anchor companies are working hard to migrate their servers to other platforms in order to satisfy their clients.
FTMO was the first company to cease its services with MetaQuotes. Currently their servers are on the DXTrade trading platform.
What will be the future trading platforms?
Currently there are several options for trading, but it will be up to each one to choose the funding company, as each one can estimate which platform is more similar to their interests.
The best known are the following:
- DXTrade
- CTrader
- Degiro
- Etoro
How to trade on these platforms?
Trading on these platforms seems simple; a basic tutorial to learn more about the application will be available on the relevant web pages.
That said, we will soon upload a video explaining the CTrader and DXTrade platforms on our YouTube channel.
Personal Opinion
In our opinion, this will be a big step towards the professionalization of the industry, both of trading itself, as well as of the funding companies. The vast majority of platforms are regulated, updated in detail and with a better feed when it comes to trading.
Personally, we find the MetaTrader platform a bit outdated, as well as its charts on the mobile device and PC. We will soon be able to find out if the change will be better than expected or not.
